The Lovers of Greek Deities

This project is an ongoing series of illustrations based on mythological Greek Deities. Each marble torso is a lover of said Deity, adorned with tattoos devoted to them, symbolising a part of their story, or aspects to who they are.

Athena is a goddess of War, Victory, Wisdom, and Strategy, she is an extremely strong and powerful Warrior. The daughter of Zeus, although rather unconventionally was born from bursting forth fully grown and armoured out of Zeus’s own head.

Eros is the God of Love, Desire and Sexuality, he is a primordial God whose story is a romance but also a tragedy. His arrows cause obsession, fierce and insane love, and therefore he has always been a source of trouble for other Deities.

Poseidon is one of the 12 Olympian Gods, he is god of the sea, water, of storms and earthquakes and is often depicted holding a trident. He is a violent and ill-tempered Deity and the brother of Zeus and Hades.

Hades is God of the Underworld, he rules over the dead and presides over wealth. His lover is persephone, who was stolen away from the mortal plane by Hades in order to live with him in the underworld.
